The South Asian Association of Pediatric Dentistry is ardently devoted towards children’s oral health care across the continent. An embodiment of constructive thinking specifically directed towards developing new methodologies while optimizing the use of traditional concepts aimed at building a future essentially free of oral ailments in children.
It is a platform for experts to congregate for effective exchange of ideas and skills relying on the belief that every child has a fundamental right to his total oral health. It is a consortium of dental professionals catering to a variety of populations with the goal of building healthy communities of children and with a vision that oral health is the key to general health and quality of life.
The South Asian Association of Paediatric Dentistry (SAAPD) is a nonprofit organization of individuals primarily concerned with area(s) of practice, education and research related to the field of Paediatric Dentistry. It provides a platform for the Pediatric Dentists of South Asia to work together in spirit of friendship, trust and understanding for benefit of the child’s oral health.
In 2022, SAAPD marked a new milestone in its journey with its entry into the NGO branch United Nations. It has been granted Special Consultative Status by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. The Society has become 1st ever in dentistry to get this status.It is registered in Darpan, Govt of India with Unique ID: DL/2021/0299884
Objectives
To constitute a forum for the exchange of relevant information concerning Pediatric Dentistry.
To contribute to the progress and promotion of the oral health of children and to encourage research in this field.
Provide patient/parent education, including anticipatory guidance in oral health promotion and disease.
To arrange scientific meetings and summit.
Strengthen co-operation with other developing countries.
Strengthen co-operation among themselves in international forums on matters of common interest.
