Dear Colleagues,
The South Asian Association of Paediatric Dentistry (SAAPD) is a non-profit organization of individuals primarily concerned with area(s) of practice, education and research related to the field of Paediatric Dentistry.
I am pleased to invite all dentists and various dental specialists to the first ever national conference on dental sedation and anesthesia, which is being held on behalf of the South Asian Association of Paediatric Dentistry (SAAPD).
This conference, themed “Demystifying Sedation in Dentistry”, is scheduled to take place on 11-12th April, 2025 at our country’s premier institute Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi. It is set to convene world-renowned professionals, experts, and researchers who are seeking to share insights, discuss emerging trends, and collectively shape the future of dental sedation in India.
With evolving culture and lifestyle, the awareness and need for sedation based dental practice has seen an increasing trend. However, dental sedation training and practice have remained asynchronous in India. This conference aims to provide a conglomeration of sedation practitioners and anaesthesiologists to guide dentists who are keen to incorporate sedation in their practices. Lectures, symposiums, panel discussions, workshops on advancements in local anesthesia and the entire spectrum of sedation ranging from anxiolysis to general anesthesia would be the mainstay of this conference. This would indeed be beneficial in reducing dental fear and anxiety in our patients and also improve the standards of oral health care in India.
In light of this , it is particularly crucial to practise sedation on a strong foundation of patient safety. Brainstorming scientific sessions during the conference, witnessing explosion of ideas, would be instrumental in shaping of guidelines and policy documents, which will provide a ready reference to dentists for a safe sedation practise.
We believe that the input of each delegate in the form of diverse point of view, experiences and competencies would be an asset for each one of us attending the conference, allowing everyone to have once in a lifetime and unforgettable experience.
We hope to see you at the conference and look forward to your accepting our invitation.
